This session will examine multiple maternal and child health programs that have been implemented throughout the world to assess the reasons underlying successes and troubles found in those programs. | |||
Learning Objectives: On completion of the session, participants will be able to: 1) identify benefits and barriers of international participatory research; 2) describe qualitative and quantitative research methods that can be used to identify challenges for adoption of evidence-based maternity care in different settings; 3) describe the theoretical underpinnings and practical application of a positive deviance informed program; and 4) list the main aspects of a culturally appropriate traditional midwife training curriculum. | |||
