This paper helps social work professionals understand the realm of evidence based sources which can be useful in advocating for policy and program development. Social work professionals working in public health and health settings are often keenly aware of the agency statistics and anecdotal evidence available and useful in shaping program and policy development. This session expands this repertoire and presents a range of secondary data sources which can be useful in dovetailing the current strategies often used by our profession. The paper also provides several case based examples which showcase the triangulation of secondary data as a strategy for evidence based program and policy development. The paper concludes with a model which can be integrated into practice and will provide a series of data sources and strategies useful in the process of evidence based program and policy development.
