The website is raising awareness of key issues that impact children in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties, California. The Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health developed Kidsdata.org, a website presenting data about children ages 0-18 in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties and comparable data in California and across the United States. The website lists and tracks 30 health topics while providing an analysis on how children are faring in each topic area, relevant resources, and related news and research. The website consolidated children and youth data in one location and make the data easily accessible to the general public, community organizations, government agencies, the media, etc.
Applied Survey Research worked with the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health to determine the top 30 indicators of children's well-being to include on the website. The indicators fall into the areas of child safety, education, emotional and behavioral health, family economics, physical health, and demographic information. Individuals may access 185 data tables and a variety of maps displaying how children are faring in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties. Community organizations are using this database to apply for grants to bring more money to the community.
