This session will detail the 2005 roll-out plan of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans with a focus on strategic alliances established to promote and carry messages that are consistent and synergistic with the Dietary Guidelines. The moderator will provide an overview of the 2005 Dietary Guidelines and steps taken to engage the nutrition, physical activity and health communities. Panelists will address how they are working with the Department of Health and Human Services to reach out to specific segments and share their experiences/results to-date. The session highlights examples of ways to expand reach of the Dietary Guidelines by collaborating with organizations to target audience segments and leveraging their expertise, resources and distribution channels.
