Abstract #120518

Evidence based practices and performance measures: Lessons from a Massachusetts conference

Richard H. Beinecke, DPA, ACSW, Department of Public Management, Suffolk University Department of Public Management, 8 Ashburton Place, Boston, MA 02108, 617-573-8062, rickdeb61@aol.com

Implementing Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) is now becoming a priority at many levels on the U.S. mental health system: states, MCOs, and most importantly clinicians. While an increasing body of research is defining what are qualified EBPs, less is understood about the barriers to implementing it and strategies to facilitate care in an evidence-informed way. This session brings together national leaders who have looked at and written about translating research into practice. Handouts will include detailed references and web sites for more information and networking.
