This presentation provides panelists and participants with an opportunity to discuss the importance of a community-based approach to policy development and advocacy. Recent efforts in California to increase access to care and reduce health disparities have been modeled with community input and support. Three presenters will provide information on different approaches and strategies regarding policy development and advocacy at a statewide level using a local community-based approach. These approaches and strategies include recent developments in public policy as well as programs and practices that address access to care.
