• Recognize the importance of relationship building to the success of a grassroots campaign.
• Mobilize a powerful grassroots coalition, including faith, community, business and labor groups, to make public health a top issue in elections in order to advance public health goals.
• Describe a social determinants approach to a public health advocacy campaign.
• Apply techniques for building an independent coalition that represents diverse perspectives for improving health.
• Identify specific attainable goals to better assure the conditions of health in a large urban environment by 2010.
