Evidenced based practice for co-occurring disorders

Co-Occurring substance use and psychiatric disorders affect at least 10 million US residents each year. The incidence of co-occurrence continues to increase at an alarming rate--overloading the nation's public health systems. Foundations Associates offers a fully integrated continuum of care for clients with co-occurring disorders based upon national evidence based practices. With a continuum that incorporates all levels of care, Foundations delivers services in a fully integrated context and is recognized as a national leader in effectively serving clients considered to be the highest utilizers of service-that ten percent of the population using more than seventy percent of the healthcare resources (i.e., individuals with co-occurring serious and persistent mental illness, such as bipolar disorder or schizophrenia, and substance abuse disorders). This presentation will provide an overview of successful, evidence based integrated services including: core competencies of staff; complexity of ongoing training and supervision; overview of integrated assessment and intervention approachs.
