This session will explore the role of evidence-based research in medicine, health policy, law, ethics, and public health. The session aims to discuss and analyze the practical applications, models, methods, and uses of evidence-based research in health policy and ethics. Particular attention and expertise will provide additional insight into the ethical implications, challenges, and dangers of utilizing or over-utilizing evidence-based research and methods when determining health care policy for disenfranchised groups, such as the elderly, poor, or minorities. Abstracts for joint presentations/sponsorship with other sections, such as health law, public health, health care administration, or other related sections are welcome. | |||
Learning Objectives: 1. Identify and explain the role of evidence-based research in medicine, health policy, law, and ethics. 2. Discuss concrete applications, methods, and uses for evidence-based research in medicine, health policy, law, and ethics. 3. Analyze the implications, challenges, and dangers for certain disenfranchised groups when utilizing evidence-based methods in health policy. | |||
