Increasingly, multi-sectoral collaboration is essential in assuring access to the conditions that support health. This session includes papers addressing leadership roles, multi-sector collaboration, and models of successful health promotion programming in faith-based setings. Common to all is the role and characteristics of leadership in building partnership relationships necessary for community-based health and health interventions. Participants will be exposed to models of congregation-based health assessments and health information strategies using innovative techonolgy. In addition, the papers provide cross cultural learning as they cover faith-based programs in the U.S. as wells in Africa and Egypt. | |||
Learning Objectives: 1. Articulate the roles of religious leadership in woking to improve comunity health. 2. Describe effective principles in multi-sector and multi-faith collaborations aimed at increasing access to care and participation in participatory research. 3. Describe successful health promotion program models, such as health assessments and information libraries, used in faith-based settings. | |||
