Most of us would agree that faith communities in partnership and collaboration with health agencies can make a diference in reducing disability and death. Faith communities still represent natural points of reference for many communities. It is not a new idea for the faith community to develop health programs whose purpose is to impact upon the most significant health risks and health conditions in their congregations and communities. Therefore, targeting the faith community for health promotion programs that are truly faith-based is extremely important. The posters in this session will describe evidenced-based successes and challenges as they showcase programs that are collaborating with faith-based organizations, making a difference and the potential impact of these programs to eliminate health disparities and promote healthy lifestyles and positive health outcomes. | |||
