Promoting Health in College Populations
College students present their own challenges to health promotion programs, including their relative independence combined with the lingering potentially strong influences of their parents. The speakers in this session will describe several studies of college students' risky behaviors and health promotion behaviors. Presentations will detail relationships among various behaviors and describe data sources for research into this population.
Learning Objectives: At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
  1. Describe contributing factors to college students' risk behaviors;
  2. Explain the relationships between health promoting behaviors; and
  3. Discuss data sources for research into college students' risk behaviors and health promotion behaviors.
