Bioterrorism, Emergency Preparedness And The Law, Part A
This session, the first of two on Bioterrorism, Emergency Preparedness and the Law coordinated by the Health Law Forum, features leading national and international public health law experts, who will help public health workers and lawyers gain greater understanding of the law and ethics-based challenges of coordinating a comprehensive preparedness program for the public health system.
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant in this session will be able to: 1. Articulate the legal foundations of the national response plan; 2. Discuss legal issues arising out of preparedness plans pertaining to hospitals and volunteer responders; 3. Describe the ethical and legal concerns raised in public health surveillance and research arising out of bioterrorism initiatives.
