This interactive session will explore successful strategies for developing evidence-based policy and practice that leads to reducing health disparities. Panelists will address how to define measures for determining success of evidence-based practices for diverse communities including quality of life. It will also explore the barriers to policy development and practice such as ensuring the inclusion of diverse communities. Current research will be shared to provide examples of successful, innovative and cost-effective ways to reduce disparities. Panelists will highlight the ethical framework and cross cutting interventions that have been developed to address this issue across all communities. This session will also provide a funder’s perspective on ensuring the sustainability of these evidence-based policies and practices. | |||
Learning Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will gain increased understanding of: 1) strategies for evidence-based policies and practice in reducing health disparities, 2) key ethical issues concerning evidence-based practices, and 3) sustaining evidence-based policies and practices from the perspective of funding agencies. | |||
