APHA and the Committee on Affiliates have a goal of building local public health infrastructure; one of the activities to accomplish that is by sharing best practices among the APHA affiliates. Best practices cover a wide range of issues. This session provides a forum to learn about affiliate successful practices in use of information technology for mentoring, planning and holding a Legislative Forum and capacity building that might be customized and/or replicated by other affiliates. | |||
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant will be able to: Describe how the Internet can be used to develop a program to mentor incoming public health workers. List three tools for raising the profile of advocacy in Affiliates. Identify lessons learned from capacity assessment. | |||
