The Children’s Health Survey: An Overview
Statement of Purpose and Institute Overview:
The purpose of this Institute is to give conference attendees background information on the National Children’s Study (Study), with respect to the Study’s 101 sites across the country. Interested participants would be attendees who are from states and counties where the Study has a site (see the Study map for more information on locations: http://www.nationalchildrensstudy.gov/about/locations/index.cfm). This background will include an overview of the Study’s community outreach efforts and plans, as well as some best practice outcomes concerning effective recruitment and retention efforts. The presentation will also discuss current collaborations between federal scientists, academia, public health practitioners, and community activists. Attendees will learn about adjunct studies, and the process for applying for one.
