Unintentional injuries are serious public health problem. They are the leading cause of death for people aged 1 to 44. Motor vehicle crashes are the leading mechanism for morbidity and mortality among all unintentional injuries. Posters in this session describe several issues relating to the occurrence and prevention of transportation related injuries as well as other important mechanisms of unintentional injuries, such as sports-related injuries and poisonings | |||
Learning Objectives: Describe the effectiveness of tailored injury prevention programs for addressing childhood injury prevention. Identify barriers to child safety seat usage in urban low income Latino communities. Understand the role of motorization and vehicle-type in traffic safety trends.
