Many public health professionals are attracted to working in other countries, particularly in the developing world, contributing to health and well being of needy communities. The globalization direction nowadays is expanding this scope of work that is facilitated by the free move on information, persons, trade and services. This seems to be encouraging more professionals to explore their potentials and opportunities in global health careers. This session is organized to promote and facilitate knowledge and information about global health careers. Each panelist will make a presentation on the current global health activities and projects in his/her organization, job opportunities, recruitment and selection of staff and consultants, as well as personal experience and advice for job seekers.
Learning Objectives: The participant will (1) learn how to promote participation of public health professionals in global health activities, (2) gain insight regarding projects and programs of governmental, private and international agencies in the global health field, (3) identify knowledge, skills and capabilities required for global health professionals and (4) propose methods for self identification and building capacity to join the international/global health work force.
