Alternative and Complementary Health Practices around the World
Alternative and complementary health practices are not limited to the United States. This session will provide the participants with an overview of several perspectives relating to Alternative and Complementary Health Practices around the world.
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant (learner) in this session will be able to: 1. Describe herbal supplement use among Latino Americans by Country of Origin 2. Identify the differences in use of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) between multiple sclerosis (MS) patients from Eastern and Western parts of Germany 3. Analyze the prevalence, cost and patterns of CAM use under Taiwan’s National Health Insurance (NHI) system 4. Discussed issues raised for Alternative and Complementary Health Practices by the interaction of a cross section of postgraduate/post-registration health practitioners on an evidence based practice course at an English university
