Michele Perlman, MPH, Teens P.A.C.T., Community Healthcare Network, 60 Remsen Street 5J, Bronx, NY 11201, 718-387-7426, mperlman@chnnyc.org

Community Healthcare Network's Teens P.A.C.T. program embarked on a multi-media youth development project to positively impact the sexual health of youth throughout New York City. Using a youth development approach, peer educators were trained extensively in sexuality education, theater and improvisation. Through a series of improvisations, they developed scripted scenes that reflect the challenges teens face communicating with partners about safer sex practices, negotiating relationships, and preventing pregnancy, STD's and HIV. The scenes were then filmed and complimented by on-the street interviews and facilitated discussions between audience members and the characters. The young people's diveres talents were engaged during all stages of production. The result is an unbelievably realistic educational video series that engages participants and challenges them to reflect on their own lives. This process can be used to create realistic educational tools for diverse target audiences on a range of topics. Participants will learn strategies to to develop effective health promotion tools.
