The Surgeon General's Report: Health Consequences of Involuntary Exposure to Tobacco Smoke is an update, evaluation, and synthesis of evidence on the health consequences of exposure to secondhand smoke. It updates the 1986 Surgeon General's report on The Health Consequences of Involuntary Smoking. The report examines the topics of toxicology, assessment and prevalence of exposure, reproductive and developmental health effects, respiratory effects of exposure in children, cancer among adults, cardiovascular diseases in adults, respiratory effects in adults, and the control of secondhand smoke exposure.
