This speaker will address the obligation and reasons to address disparities in access to health care and the unique obligations of the United States to provide health services to American Indians and Alaska Natives.

Learning Objectives:

A. Identify components of access to health care

B. Identify the sources of the obligation to address disparities in access to health care

C. Discuss special obligations of the United States to American Indians and Alaska Natives
D. Identify and discuss authority for special health programs for American Indians and Alaska Natives, with specific emphasis on Alaska community health aide program and dental health aide therapists.
