This invited presentation will summarize the progress of a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation -supported project to stimulate research on public health financing topics and to build the evidence base needed to support policy decision-making on public health financing and resource allocation.

Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to

(
• identify key policy and administrative issues regarding the financing of public health services at state and local levels; (
• compare alternative approaches to public health financing used in different communities and states within the US; and (
• assess possible reforms to public health financing based on feasibility, efficiency, and equity.
