Role of Worksite Wellness in Obesity Prevention Efforts - The SAS Experience

Recognizing the average American spends a significant portion of their adult life at work, SAS, the world's largest privately held software company, embraces the social responsibility of creating and supporting an environment conducive to optimal health for everyone. This session includes an introduction to the wellness philosophy behind this award-winning company, well-known for its distinctive corporate culture and benefits. More specifically, attendees will learn of the current weight management opportunities offered to SAS employees and their families as well as the professional insights gained from weight management activities spanning SAS' twenty-two years of worksite wellness programming. Initiatives targeting healthy eating, physical activity, and health behavior change at the individual level will be highlighted along with community and environmental efforts. Kimberly Hicks, MPH, CHES, SAS Wellness Coordinator and Fitness Center Assistant Manager, will present this session.
