This interesting session will focus on the epidemiology of cancer. Presentations will include a discuss of lung cancer and exposure to disease particulate matter, cancer risk factors in Puerto Rico, and the intensity of surveillance after surgery for upper aerodigestive tract carcinoma. One session will focus on a cancer cluster investigation and a translation of this investigation into community prevention programming. | |||
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant (learner) in this session will be able to: 1. Understand how surgeon age affects post-operative follow-up intensity after treatment for upper aerodigestive tract carcinoma. 2. Describe some sentinel differences in lung cancer epidemiology between men and women 3. Discuss the relative importance of genetic and environmental risk factors in cancer incidence and mortality patterns 4. describe the rationale and methodology involved in conducting community cancer assessments | |||
