Psychiatric Epidemiology
This interesting session will discuss focus on research done in the field of psychiatric epidemiology. Specific topics include: anxiety and depression, sleep disturbances, children's suicide ideation, and suicide risk factors in the military.
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant (learner) in this session will be able to: 1. Recognize key approaches to population-based mental health research 2. Evaluate the impact of work and study on the sleep and excessive daytime sleepiness in young adults 3. Discuss the possible link between chronic diseases and depression 4. Discuss the influence of the resident area and the new stressors on children's suicide ideation 5. Identify the most common risk factors present in completed suicides among active duty air force personnel
