There is a growing body of literature and research that supports the use of CHWs in the continuum of care provided to patients. It is important that we are intentional about documenting the range of responsibilities that these positions can take part in. This session will look at agencies with pioneering approaches to employing and using CHWs as trainers of trainers, researchers, partners in collaborations with other key stakeholders, and supports for behavioral changes within the family unit.
Learning Objectives: At the end of this session, participants will be able to: 1) Illustrate methodologies used to train CHWs as researchers. 2) Demonstrate methods community health advocates used to document and evaluate the impact of their interventions.
