This session will present emerging, timely, and innovative research on issues significant to the health of the Asian and Pacific Islander American community. Among the highlights to be presented will be epidemiological data on HIV and cancer tends among AAPIs, a unique study examining the the intersection of employment concerns and mental/ physical health, and and several studies regarding the role of discrimination and unfair treatment on the health status and practices of AAPIs. | |||
Learning Objectives: 1. Learn about promising public health research that advances that health status of Asian and Pacific Islander Americans; 2. Understand the role of discrimination and unfair treatment on the health of AAPIs; and, 3. Discover how structural and cultural barriers impact the health of AAPIs | |||
