This session will provide health and faith leaders with a method of collecting and using local public health data for needs assessment and intervention planning, how to use geographical information systems in planning and evaluating public health interventions and methods of mobilizing faith leaders to promote healthy behaviors in their faith community with local public health data. Specific emphasis will be placed on the HIV/AIDS issues relating to faith based community involvement. | |||
Learning Objectives: Identify a method of collecting and using local public health data for needs assessment and intervention planning, discuss the use of geographical information systems in planning and evaluating public health interventions and methods of mobilizing faith leaders to promote healthy behaviors in their faith community with local public health data. Identify the key factors that affect congregational involvement in HIV/AIDS. Recognize the benefits of case study methodology for exploration of understudied topics. State testable hypotheses about congregational involvement in health and HIV/AIDS ministries. Identify facilitators to successful HIV-related faith-based programs | |||
