Collaboration and Partnerships with the Faith Community to Work on Global Health Rights
This session will provide a discussion of the health and spiritual effects on international persons living in the USA. One presentor will identify the health and social effects of 9/11 on Muslim community with emphasis on women. Two others will articulate basic human rights which are at stake in the immigration debate bu describing some of the conflict, pain, and hope of US-Mexico Border immigrants and will discuss the spiritual challenges which are the consequence of undocumented immigrant worker mortality and morbidity.
Learning Objectives: Recognize the association between social justice, political, economic, and spiritual issues. Identify policy issues that provide opportunities for church based organizations and international communities to address health and medical needs.
