This session will focus on the chronic disease asthma. Presentations will discuss: predictors for asthma hospitalization, safety of a drug used to treat asthma, asthma surveillance, a school-based action plan, and racial differences in asthma prevalence. | |||
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant (learner) in this session will be able to: 1. Describe important predictors for severe asthma 2. Review safety data from pooled randomized clinical trials of Foradil in the treatment of asthma 3. Describe the process and benefits of engaging in a coordinated multi-state effort to analyze common data on asthma prevalence and burden 4. List the components of a well-designed asthma action plan 5. Identify advantages and disadvantages of using the Youth Risk Behavior Survey for local asthma prevalence | |||
