When most think of those affected by HIV/AIDS residing in urban areas. However, communities in the Southern United States face challenges related to reduced access to services, economic hardship, and stigma. Presenters in this session will discuss service utilization, post-Katrina service projects, and sexual behavior and perceived risk in rural areas, among other topics. | |||
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant (learner) in this session will be able to: 1. Analyze 3 determinants of risk behavior of communities in the southern US. 2. Identify differential experiences of HIV services utilization and access among HIV-affected residents of the southern US. | |||
