New Approaches to Smoking Cessation
Diminishing the use of tobacco is an important part of individual and public health. The speakers in this session will discuss research designed to discover attitudes about smoking. The session will include discussions of common arguments for and against the adoption of smoke-free policies and household smoking bans. The session will also include a discussion of the use of children’s museums as a venue for education about tobacco.
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant (learner) in this session will be able to: 1. Discuss common arguments for and against smoke-free policies. 2. Identify the relationship between home smoking environment and attitudes and behaviors about cigarette smoking. 3. Articulate the importance of children’s museums as a venue for tobacco education.
