Environmental health presents many important challenges to health education and to message dissemination. The speakers in this session will discuss how health educators are educated on the topic of environmental health and the training of individuals in the environmental health workforce. Speakers will also discuss the relationship between environmental health risks and health and strategies for increasing community awareness of these relationships. | |||
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant (learner) in this session will be able to: 1. Articulate the adverse relationship between environmental health risks and health in adult and child populations. 2. Discuss strategies for increasing community awareness of and engagement with environmental health issues, including use of technologies such as GIS. 3. Recognize the need for a larger and more diverse environmental health workforce. | |||
