Advocacy has often been recognized as an integral part of public health campaigns. Presenters in this session focus their attention on furthering health education through their use of advocacy. The speakers in this session will describe programs addressing advocacy in a prostate cancer coalition, in our language, and for the elderly. Presenters will also address the importance of advocacy training for low-income clinic families and Maine teenagers. | |||
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant (learner) in this session will be able to: 1. Identify factors that contribute to and detract from advocacy efforts. 2. Discuss innovative techniques and strategies to foster advocacy efforts. | |||
