War, conflict, natural disasters, and economic changes have resulted in large migrant populations in recent years. The health problems associated with these populations grows steadily with length of displacement and the size of the displaced population. In this session we will look at different aspects of displaced peoples. We begin with looking at the impact of displacement from a developing to a developed country and the problems of immigration. We then go on to look at the impact on health of forced resettlement in two different countries suffering conflict. Finally we look at some of the emotional impacts of the 2004 Asian Tsunami on survivors living in displacement camps. | |||
