Sex work, sexual assault, "running trains," and sex-for-money are all critical issues related to the lives and sexual health of women. From several perspectives and methodological paradigms, the presenters in this session will provide information on these and other critical issues affecting the lives and sexual health of women. Studies of males and females will be discussed by presenters. | |||
Learning Objectives: By the end of the session, participants will be able to (1) discuss critical issues affecting the sexual lives and health of women; (2) identify social factors influencing the sexual health of women; (3) describe sex trade behavior and associated risk (e.g., STDs, interpersonal violence); (4) articulate issues of concern relevant to sexual acts and sexual assault; and (5) describe different perceptions of "sex work" and how interpretations influence women's health. | |||
