Maternal and child health issues are important considerations in women's health. This session addresses those issues unique to women in the reproductive stage of life and includes topics such as disparities in maternal risks and birth outcomes, promoting healthy postpartum weight, breastfeeding and international aspects of maternal and child health. | |||
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant will be able to: 1. Identify at least three issues of particular concern for maternal health and birth outcomes. 2. Describe maternal and child health concerns in the developing world. 3. Describe approaches to reducing disparities in maternal health and birth outcomes. | |||
