Developing countries urgently need research to help relieve the enormous burden of disease that they carry. Given the limited resources in developing countries, it is particularly important to invest in health care that works. However, the effectiveness of man interventions to improve health in poor populations in the developing world remains untested and therefore unproven. There is a need to challenge the perception “that what works is known” and to conduct research that can support evidence-based practices within a country context. It is vital that research is not only conducted but also put into action | |||
