This session covers topics related to trade and health from broad international policy issues to specific issues concerning trade in products with health consequences. Nick Drager of the World Health Organization takes on the issue of the inevitable interrelationship between trade and health, drawing on examples from recent work by WHO on trade in services. Timothy Holtz examines the role of transnational corporations in trade and health. Gail Davis brings the focus to the specific case of the promotion of exports of beverage alcohol products from developing countries. These three perspectives provide a sampling of the wide variety of intersections of trade and health. | |||
