Learning Objectives: At the end of this session, participants will be able to: 1. Analyze comparisons among rural and other health departments to identify differences in governance, financing, workforce and activities and services provided. 2. Correlate organizational characteristics of public health systems and funding formulas used for local public health programs and activities. 3. Identify public health infrastructure-related barriers that communities may face in securing and using funds for chronic disease prevention programs. 4.
