Grassroots and Community Based Efforts to Promote Health among Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders
This session will describe innovative, grassroots partnerships that have been used to promote and address health issues among Asian American Pacific Islander populations. Among the highlights to be presented will be innovative programs and interventions to address Hepatitis B, heart health, services for battered women, cervical cancer screening, and violence prevention.
Learning Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will be able to: 1) Describe the process of participatory research; 2)Discuss innovative partnership based programs to address health issues in AAPI communities; and 3) Articular the importance of grassroots programs to promote AAPI health
