African American MSM, especially young MSM, continue to experience disproportionate rates of HIV infection. However, targeting these communities for intervention is challenging. This panel will address specific determinants, successes, and difficulties in working with African American male communities, especially young men, around HIV/AIDS. | |||
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of the session, the participant (learner) in this session will be able to: 1. Identify 3 HIV-related issues specific to African American men. 2. Understand 3 challenges in working with African American men for HIV prevention. 3. Understand 3 factors that facilitate the effective engagement of African American men in HIV-related interventions. | |||
