Population, Family Planning, and Reproductive Health

Submit Abstract

The PFPRH Section invites abstracts pertaining to Population, Family Planning and Reproductive Health, especially as they relate to the theme of this year's annual meeting, "Politics, Policy and Public Health.” This year’s theme is highly relevant to our Section as much of our work has been affected by politics and policy shifts. We should have a lot to discuss on this topic.

Both international and domestic abstracts are warmly encouraged. Of particular interest are papers and panels that relate to politics and policy issues across domestic and international programs.

Abstracts should be submitted along the lines of these specific areas, both familiar and new:
  • Abortion/post-abortion care
  • Assisted Reproductive Technologies
  • Constructive male engagement and reproductive health
  • Contraception and new contraceptive technologies
  • Gender and gender-based violence
  • Gender equity and reproductive health
  • HIV and AIDS and STI
  • Implications of politics and policy for population, family planning, and reproductive health
  • Integration of reproductive health programs and services
  • Maternal and perinatal health
  • Monitoring and evaluation
  • New reproductive technologies
  • Policy change
  • Program logistics, finance and sustainability
  • Reproductive Heatlh and the MDG
  • Reproductive health among special populations
Preference will be given to abstracts that feature cutting-edge concepts and innovations, best practices, and/or lessons learned from domestic and international programs. Abstracts will be judged on their contribution to the field of PFPRH, relevance to politics and policy issues, clarity of presentation, originality, methodology, and breadth of interest.

If you are interested in organizing a panel, please e-mail khardee@futuresgroup.com (after January 1 Karen_Hardee@jsi.com) with the proposed panel and participants. You MUST specify "APHA Abstract" in the subject of all abstract submission-related email. All abstracts must be submitted and reviewed individually and if accepted will be placed into sessions at the discretion of the Program Committee Chair.

Please communicate with the organizer via email rather than telephone whenever possible.
