The Environmental Public Health Institute (EPHLI) was established by the Environmental Health Services Branch of NCEH in 2005 to strengthen the environmental public health system in the United States by enhancing the leadership capabilities of state and local environmental health specialists from various agencies and organizations. Included among past and current EPHLI fellows are state and local directors of environmental health, military environmental health professionals, faculty at accredited environmental health academic programs, staff of CDC public health partner organizations, tribal environmental health professionals and even a state legislator. This presentation will offer discussion about continuation of the leadership institute, as well as opportunities for leveraging and broadening support across individual disciplines. Also presented, will be opportunities for engaging mentors from state, local, academic, and community environmental health programs.

Learning Objectives:
1) Describe the Environmental Public Health Institute. 2) Explain benefits of EPHLI mentoring. 3) Describe available workforce development opportunities that result in improvement of environmental health practice
