Recovery from alcohol and other drugs is an ongoing process. It is common knowledge in addiction circles that a person who either was an alcoholic or addicted to drugs will have failed at their attempts of recovery at least eight times. That failure amount is excessive, and it may span a lifetime. Is the person addicted to alcohol and drugs completely recovered? Has the traditional steps lost its effectiveness? Has the trip to rehabilitation become a reprieve from life? It seems when many have used going to rehabilitation facilities as a publicity stunt. Britney Spears, Tara Conner and Lindsey Lohan are examples of rehab stardom. Despite being Ms. USA, Ms. Conner's celebrity fame heightened. Here an interview 10 people who are in recovery from alcohol and other drugs, will highlight the challenges of recovery. Behaviors, victories and struggles will be documented by the group. In addition the revelation of obstacles that exist in the community will be underscored. There is documented drug use in rehabilitation centers, and nursing homes. Obstacles also are apparent in post recovery clinics, for example many people who are employed in the healthcare system, are using some type of illegal controlled substance. Individuals who struggle with addiction are put in compromising positions. Whether the individual is a patient and encounters the obstacle or works side by side with them, it is a major problem.
