Balderson Leadership Project Award Presentation: Poster Presentations of State and Regional Public Health Leadership Institute Graduate Projects
Tuesday, November 6, 2007: 1:45 PM
A panel of Leadership Institute graduates will present selected individual and/or team projects in a poster format that have made an impact in their community and/or agency and demonstrated excellence in public health leadership. As a requirement of the Leadership Institute curriculum, each scholar completes a personal or team project and/or case study in their community or home agency. These individuals were selected to represent their institute and to present their project and/or case study at this session. These presenters have gone through an intensive national application and selection process. This special award and presentation was developed in memory of Tom Balderson, champion of public health leadership development. The state, regional, and national leadership programs serving these scholars are dedicated to meeting the local grassroots needs by developing and enhancing individual and organizational leadership and management while improving and promoting the health of communities. These leadership programs provide a unique learning experience for public health professionals that emphasizes personal understanding, as well as the growth and mastery of essential leadership skills such as visioning, team building, systems thinking, and political effectiveness.
