The research for the development of these new growth standards has shown us that with appropriate clinical support and education for mothers, infants grow remarkably quickly at first with exclusive breastfeeding. Case examples will be presented to illustrate the sometimes different findings and implications of the NCHS/CDC and the WHO charts. Practical clinical skills, which can assure that infants are growing well will be discussed.

Learning Objectives:
Describe how the new charts might be used in the clinical setting. Identify examples where the old and new charts may lead to differing clinical conclusions
