Group I: The purpose of this group discussion is to revieew how mixed-methods approaches have been have been used in CBPR to ensure that data are analyzed and interpreted with a community voice and context. Group 2: The purpose of this group discussion is to explain how a survey methodology has been used within the context of a community campus partnership using CBPR to collect and interpret data. Group 3: The purpose of this group discussion is to present the way in which focus groups have been used as part of a CBPR approach to explore the socio-cultural determinants of HIV risk among and improve the health of Latino men. Group 4: The purpose of this small group is to demonstrate how mapping methodology can be used as part of a CBPR approach to improving the health of urban residents.
Learning Objectives: Explain how the use of a specific data gathering technique has advanced the CBPR methodology particularly the ways in which the community voice has been included in interpreting and analyzing data collected through these techniques.
