The purpose of this Q&A session is to give participants an opportunity to discuss and review the presentations given in the second half of this Learning Institute course. A few of the topics open for discussion will be the analytical capabilities of MEPS as it relates to health insurance status; the appropriate use of weights required to produce unbiased national estimates; and features of the AHRQ web site as it relates to MEPS and other Agency data sources. Individuals will also have the option of bringing up specific research and policy questions of interest to them and the type of research projects the MEPS data can support.
Learning Objectives: 1) Identify the scope of topics and analytic detail that can be achieved with the MEPS HC
2) List advantages and disadvantages of using MEPS data files
3) Demonstrate an understanding of the structure and contents of different levels of files (i.e. person-, condition-, family-, and event-level files)
4) Identify the contents and features of the AHRQ web site as it relates to MEPS and other Agency data sources
